Elden Ring is the newest addition to the storied list of games that FromSoftware has released into the world. While it doesn’t follow Dark Souls lore, it forges its own path of brutality in a more open-world setting. While these games are thought of fondly, one common bit about them is how they are a bit difficult to understand. If you’re looking to cast yourself some incantations, one of the most powerful appears to be Beast Claw. We’ll go over what you need to do to obtain it in this guide.
Beast Claw Incantation
To get Beast Claw in Elden Ring, you will need to deliver 5 Deathroot to Gurranq, Beast Clergyman in the Bestial Sanctum in Caelid. The NPC will consume the item and give you a reward based on the amount of Deathroot you have given it. These include the Bestial Sting, Hail, and Vitality incantations. Once you’ve given them five and defeat them in battle, you will be given Beast Claw!
It has now been confirmed that you can get Beast Claw by giving Gurranq five Deathroot, and then defeating them in a fight. It isn’t a full boss fight, but it’s going to be a pretty intense battle. Once you’ve gotten them down far enough in health, they will relent and go back to normal. You might need to go to Site of Grace to get them to reset properly.
Here’s video proof of collecting Beast Claw from Gurranq:
You can access the Bestial Sanctum by heading into a secret portal located near the Third Church of Marika. Here’s a video showing you exactly how to get to the portal, and where to go to talk to Gurranq.
Beast Claw is considered one of the most powerful incantations in the game. When cast it will dig your hand into the ground and swing it forward, which unleashes five magic claws that spread horizontally. The claws will penetrate through enemies, making for a pretty solid AOE attack.
