There’s a lot of great decoration items in Minecraft, and one of them that is a bit hard to get is a mob head block. This block looks like the enemies or character that drops it. There are five in total that you can obtain and you can place them wherever you would like! If you’re looking to spruce up your next build then getting a couple of mob heads could be one of the ways to do it.

Getting Mob Heads

To get mob heads in Minecraft then in most cases you will need to get the monster that you want the head of killed by a charged creeper’s explosion. To create a charged creeper, you will need to lure a creeper into getting struck by lightning. This can be done by getting a Trident with the Channeling enchantment when there’s a thunderstorm, or creating a lightning rod and bringing over the creeper to it during thunder. Some heads just require you to get lucky when you kill them.

Wither Head

To get a Wither Head, you just need to go The Nether and slay Withers Skeletons. These mobs spawn at nether fortresses which will spawn throughout The Nether. There’s a 2.5% chance of a skull dropping when you kill one, but you can increase your chances by having the Looting enchantment on your weapon!

Ender Dragon Head

To get the Ender Dragon Head, you will need to first go to The End through the End Portal which is found in a stronghold. Once there you will need to slay the Ender Dragon. If you can get that done, use an Ender Pearl to locate a portal called the End gateway. Go through this and you will find structures like the End City and Ship. Locate a ship and go to the front of it to find the Ender Dragon Head!

Skeleton, Zombie, and Creeper Head

If you want a common monster’s head then you’ll need to go the charged creeper route. This is pretty difficult to pull off, but you can make things easier by obtaining a Trident and putting the Channeling enchantment on it. Now, find a thunderstorm and locate the mob you wants head. Hit the mob a couple of times but don’t kill it. Find a nearby creeper and throw your Trident at it to electrify it and then trigger it to explode next to the mob. If the explosion from the creeper kills the mob then it will drop the mob head!

That is all you need to know about mob heads in Minecraft! They can make a great decoration for your next build, or you can wear one around and scare or impress your friends.
