To get Saltpeter in New World, you will need to head out and find yourself a cave. These are generally found in the mountainous regions of the world, there’s plenty southeast of Windsward Hamlet and to the west of Brightwood Hamlet. There’s many other places to find it, these are just some of the more concentrated locations.

Once you’ve located a cave, head inside and look for a white covered rock on the ground. If you hover over it with your cursor, you should see the name Saltpeter pop up. You don’t need any tools, just interact with it and you will gather the resource!

Saltpeter is a valuable ingredient if you plan to use guns, because you will need it to craft Gunpowder. Add together Charcoal, Flint, and Saltpeter and you will have yourself some of the explosive refined resource.
