Elden Ring is the newest addition to FromSoftware’s illustrious collection of games. While it does not follow in the footsteps of Dark Souls, it forges its own path of violence in a more open-world scenario. While these games are fondly remembered, one common criticism is that they are difficult to comprehend. If you’re wondering how you can stop showing that unsightly helmet on your character, we’ll tell you what you can do.
Taking Off Your Helmet
The only way to hide your helmet in Elden Ring is to unequip it in your Equipment window. Unfortunately, there’s no setting that allows you to wear a helmet and make it so that it is not visible when you are playing the game. Yes, you will lose some stats by not wearing it, but FromSoftware games are fairly notorious for making armor not extremely important.
So, if you want to take off your helmet, you just need to open up main in-game menu by pressing Escape on your keyboard, or pressing the Menu button on your gamepad. Navigate to the Equipment menu and open it up. Select your currently equipped helmet, and press the remove button to take it off!

While this isn’t the greatest option, it is at least somewhat viable for players who want to see the character’s face that they made in the create a character editor. You will take a bit more damage without your helmet, but looking stylish is really its own reward!
