In Builderment, you are looking to create an efficient factory layout that will take raw resources and turn them into advanced equipment. This may sound easy, but creating a well laid out assembly line will take planning and thought! If you’ve gotten the urge to create your own factory, you will want to know how to make some of the harder to craft items in the game!
Steel is a later game material that can be a bit difficult to obtain because you will need to have access to a refined resource. If you do not see Steel available as a recipe in your Forge, you will need to complete more of the Technology tasks until you unlock it!
How to get Steel in Builderment
Time needed: 15 minutes.
To make Steel in Builderment, you will need to progress far enough in the game to unlock the Forge. Once you have done so, you will then need to feed the Forge 6 Iron Ore and 1 Graphite to craft Steel!
- Find Iron Ore
You will need to first locate some iron ore on your map. You are likely already processing it for different material. The difference with crafting Steel is that you don’t want to process it into ingots. You just need the raw ore.
- Find Wood
You might already have a wood area going, but it’s best to find another one because you’re going to need it to craft a variety of important resources. Even if it’s super far away, it’s still good to drag it all the way back towards your construction area.
- Find Coal
Something that might be new for you is Coal. This is a dark colored resource that can be found fairly regularly around the map. You will need to mine it and bring it along with your wood to a Forge.
- Create Graphite
You will now need to create Graphite which requires 3 Wood Logs and 3 Coal. Send both of these into as many Forges as you want to create to make Graphite. Tap on the Forge and select the recipe to craft Graphite. Start sending that Graphite out towards where you want to make your Steel.
- Create Steel
Find an open area and make as many Forges as you want that you will feed with the Iron Ore and Graphite. Nine is usually a good number, because it splits up the Belt Splitters evenly. However, you are welcome to experiment with different layouts. Feed each Forge with one Belt of Iron Ore and one of Graphite. Make sure to set the Forge’s recipe to Steel, or you won’t produce anything! Once you’ve got it all laid out, you should start producing Steel!
That’s everything you need to know about getting steel in Builderment! You can learn a lot more about the game in the Builderment section of our website.
Hi! I know I am going to feel really stupid after I find this out, but I am stuck on builderment and it is driving me absolutely mad. Steel Rods. I can make steel, but not steel rods, and I am missing this somehow, but I can’t take it any longer. Please help me end this mental torture.
Steel Rods are 3x Steel into a Workshop! Hopefully that helps!
No
No, what?!
I cant find it to.
Maybe the confusion is because you need to unlock Concrete to unlock the Steel Rod. Have y’all opened up Concrete?
Hi, I have the same issue. No concrete and no steel rod recipe is available, I am stuck. None of the factories can produce these 2 items and just can’t continue the game. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? All previous levels are completed. Please help. Thanks 🙂
I’m looking at the Technology tab and I see Concrete requires 200 Steel and 1000 Sand to unlock. When you unlock Concrete, you then unlock Steel Rods.
Hi, thanks for your answer, but what I mean is that the recipe is not available in the Forge. And I think I miss several recipes. I am not able to produce nano wires, turbo chargers or electric motors either. Their recipes don’t exist in any type of factories… i guess its a bug in the game(?) I am playing on iPad.
It could be a bug, not sure. Sorry!
