Elden Ring Keyboard Parry

Parrying is one of the most important skills you can master in Elden Ring. The ability to parry at exactly the right time is not only incredibly helpful for defeating enemies and bosses alike, but it’s an incredibly satisfying move every time you pull it off. Unfortunately, while parrying on a console controller is pretty straight forward, doing so with a keyboard and mouse is a bit harder to figure out. If you’re looking for how to parry in Elden Ring with a keyboard and mouse setup, this is the guide for you.

How To Parry On PC Elden Ring

To parry in Elden Ring using your keyboard and mouse, you simply need to press Right-Click while holding down Shift. This will successfully activate a parry. However, there are a few things you need to know to make this work. First of all, you need to have both a weapon and a shield equipped. Secondly, you must have a shield with the Parry skill equipped. This is because parrying itself is a weapon skill, and not a feature on its own. Without these things, you will not parry, and instead will activate your main weapon’s weapon skill.

Parrying is used just before an enemy’s attack hits to throw the attack off and prevent damage. It’s like blocking, but requires more precise timing and has far better rewards when successfully pulled off.

Parrying in Elden Ring is a powerful tool for any Tarnished. While it can be very difficult to master the precise timing of parrying, doing so can completely leave your enemy off guard. This is because not only does parry block and attack, it also staggers an opponent, leaving them open for attacks.

If holding shift + right click doesn’t work for you, you can change the keys needed for parrying in the controls menu. To do this, open the pause or title menu and navigate to the settings tab. When you get to controls, make sure you change the input for weapon abilities (again, shift + right click by default.) Set this to whatever you want, and that kill will now be your weapon ability/parry button.

That’s everything you need to know about parrying on Elden Ring’s PC version! If you found this guide helpful, leave a comment below and be sure to check out our other Elden Ring guides.
