It’s always good to show some gratitude towards your chauffeur, and this is particularly the case in Fortnite! The reason for that is that thanking the bus driver can be a challenge for you to complete, or a milestone that you can do if you thank them many times during a season. While this should be an easy task, it’s a bit confusing because there’s no specific key or button designated for this purpose. Whether you are on PC, Console, or Mobile, we’ll teach you how you can thank the bus driver in this guide.

Thanking the Bus Driver

To thank the bus driver in Fortnite, you will need to hit the emote key that you have bound in the game. When you are traveling on the bus, all you need to do is tap that button and you will give your gratitude to the bus driver!

It is possible you have changed the emote key button in your game. Fortnite uses a lot of different inputs, so it’s possible you use something else for it. Here’s a look at the default buttons:

  • PC Keyboard: B Key
  • PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch (Console): Down on the D-Pad
  • Mobile (Android): Tap the Emote button at the top of the screen (Speech bubble with Exclamation Point)

If you aren’t sure what key you changed it to, you can head into the controls section in the Settings area of the game. On PC you will want to go to the Keyboard Controls section, and scroll down until you see emote.

Console players will head to the Controller section of the Settings. Look to see which button has been selected for Emote. It’s possible you have removed it completely, so you will need to add it back if that’s the case.
