I, the Inquisitor, is a story-driven, dark fantasy adventure game with action elements. This game is based on the bestselling Inquisitor book series by Jacek Piekara. It takes place in an alternative religious timeline. The story follows Jesus, who was once nailed to the cross and near death. Except in this story, he is consumed by rage. He breaks free and seeks cruel vengeance on all the people who don’t believe in him and God. After centuries, an army of zealous Inquisitors violently enforces the faith in this bloody Church.

In I, the Inquisitor, you play as Mordimer Madderdin, an Inquisitor in God’s service. He is sent to the town of Konigstein, where there are a series of mysteries and sins. You are to solve the various crimes and cases of those who’ve gone against the Church. Meanwhile, you are to uncover the truth of a realm that’s threatening to break through and enter the world of the living.
As an Inquisitor, it is your role to maintain order and enforce your Church’s faith. However, it is proving difficult in a world where people have lost their faith and sinned. You are to decide the fates of many in multiple story-driven cases and missions. It is up to you to determine if you will show mercy or believe faithfully in the holy law. Your choices will ultimately leave a mark on this world.
After delving into the mysterious cases and crimes, Mordimer soon discovers that he can enter the mysterious and dangerous Unworld. But entering this world comes with risks as a dark force reigns supreme and will do everything to destroy him.
By playing an Inquisitor, you can use whatever methods necessary to uncover the truth. A full sword-based combat system will let or even require you to use brute force. Master your blade and use your enemies’ weaknesses against them.
