Rusted Moss is an upcoming Metroidvania, 2D-platformer game by indie developers faxdoc, happysquared, and sunnydaze, published by PLAYISM. In this game, players will journey across desolate landscapes and battle against mechanical monstrosities.
Publisher PLAYISM recently announced that Rusted Moss will launch on April 12th for PC via Steam. Take a look at the Rusted Moss – Release Date Trailer, courtesy of PLAYISM’s official Youtube:
This action-pack Metroidvania boasts a physics-based grapple and a full 360-degree aiming system. Mastering the grappling hook is challenging but rewarding. This physics-based, elastic grappling hook propels the character forward with kinetic momentum. Rusted Moss is a twin-stick shooter that features crisp and accurate gunplay. As such, players may quickly swap between their arsenal of weaponry to match their play style and the conditions.
The grappling and aiming systems in Rusted Moss significantly elevate this 2D-platformer game. The freedom that these controls provide helps to create a fluid experience in which players can feel like they have full command over their character. Moreover, these controls also enable players to devise creative strategies for overcoming varying navigation obstacles, as well as direct their attacks with pinpoint accuracy against enemies and equipment.
The most recent video for Rusted Moss offers an extensive overview of the game’s mechanics as well as some of the adversaries that players will face. The melancholy premise of this 2D platformer has been well conveyed through both the setting and the game’s overall aesthetic.
PLAYISM also has plans to publish a 127-page art book for Rusted Moss. This book will feature concept art, background story information, and developer commentary, among other things. A demo version of Rusted Moss is also available on Steam for those who want to test out some of the game’s features.
