Full Void, an upcoming puzzle platformer from indie developer and publisher OutOfTheBit, has announced that its first livestream is scheduled for February 2nd, 2023, at 6 AM pacific time.

A release date still hasn’t been announced, but it’s expected in early 2023, so hopefully a launch window or concrete date will be revealed during the livestream. At this time, it is only confirmed to discuss the Steam Next Fest demo. You can wishlist Full Void on Steam now. Here is today’s announcement from the devs’ official feed:

Previous gameplay teases from the official YouTube channel have been very brief, sometimes just 10 seconds long. You can barely find around two minutes of gameplay footage on Full Void’s Steam page. So, next week’s livestream should prove very revealing, and crucial for the devs to make a strong impression for new interest.

Full Void is set in a dystopian future with rogue AI, which may not be the most innovative premise, but the cinematic approach is definitely neat. The story will unfold with a variety of cinematics, which are well-staged and moody. They also reinforce the immersion of the game, which appears to play a large role, since much of the revealed levels are highly interactive.

Players will be able to traverse levels through climbing, pushing objects, and other detailed changes that create a tactile feeling compared to some more traditional platformers. Alongside the cinematics, Full Void feels right out of the 90’s.

The environments are all grungy and shadowed, and although AI is the primary enemy, other tense moments like being chased by a dog really lean into the psychological suspense of Full Void’s dystopia. Overall, the game has plenty of potential as a unique twist on familiar futurist tropes, so hopefully indie fans tune in for the upcoming livestream.

In the meantime, you can check out the test broadcast, featuring “the first few screens”:
