No Umbrellas Allowed, the indie strategy sim about a shop set in the future from developer and publisher Hoochoo Game Studios, is officially “coming soon” to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. An exact release date has not been confirmed for these ports yet.

No Umbrellas Allowed originally launched in September 2021, and is available on PC now. You can watch today’s console announcement trailer on publisher Digerati’s YouTube channel:

No Umbrellas Allowed focuses on buying and selling items, but players will also need to contend with their customers. Their behavior is pretty interesting to begin with, but they also happen to be a direct reflection of the dystopian world in No Umbrellas Allowed. As a result, all of your business decisions and the attitude of your customers are the key to your perspective of the narrative.

Though it shares many of the same mechanics as other titles in the genre, this is a creative little sim. Its graphics probably won’t benefit from arriving on consoles, let alone next-gen consoles, but the art design will. The world is full of tiny details that each add their own piece of lore and flair. These contribute to making the environments feel truly lived-in, and that also applies to the crucial customers.

Besides, No Umbrellas Allowed also deserves the wider audience. And a port for the Nintendo Switch is surely a great fit. This game strikes a decent balance between the strategic tension of pushing your luck and casual sim gameplay. It’s easy to both set the game aside and pick it up again, which should make it ideal for taking it on the go.
