The attraction of the glitz and glamor from Hollywood has a strong pull, and now players can get a taste for themselves with the new puzzle-platforming title It’s a Wrap! on PC and Nintendo Switch. Developer Chanko Studios has announced that the game will release this summer, with an official release date being revealed at Gamescom on Aug. 23.
In the title, players will organize sequential events using a video editing program to ensure that their main character can make it from one side of the set to their objective. This will mean navigating swinging platforms and avoiding monsters to get to safety. It seems like It’s a Wrap! will feature a range of classic movie genres and has clear inspirations from popular movies.
Ahead of its expected release, It’s a Wrap! has received a few awards at festivals like the Indie Game Fest 2023, BitSummit 2022, Creative Gaming Awards 2022, and Indie X 2022. Most of these were rewarded for being fun, innovative, or just having interesting design choices that fellow developers and movie fans seemed to appreciate.
It’s a Wrap! currently has a demo available on Steam and will be hosting a separate demo at Gamescom from Aug. 23 to 27. More details about the game will be revealed by Chanko Studios during the Future Games Show on Aug. 23, with the demo likely becoming available at the showcase shortly after.
With the release date confirmed for some time this summer, it seems like It’s a Wrap! may be here in the next few months.
