In Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief, only the tough survive the streets of Mikado. Set during the Edo period of Japan, Ebizo is an amateur thief who wants to steal from the rich and give to the poor–very much like Robin Hood.

During his first operation, however, he and his mentor, Ainosuke, witness their men killing innocent civilians. Horrified by what he’s seen, Ainosuke urges Ebizo to flee, along with the only survivor, a lone girl.

Ten years after this event, Ebizo has stayed true to his morals and led a simple and fulfilling life with Suzuna, the young girl he escaped with and took in as his daughter. But things take a turn for the worse when Suzuna becomes violently ill. To buy the medicine she needs, Ebizo faces a hefty financial burden. Even though he doesn’t want to return to his thieving life, he will have to steal for the sake of his daughter and those in need.

Every decision you make as a thief, whether good or bad, will determine your future with multiple branching storylines. You must avoid enemy detection with stealthy actions and combos and build your reputation as a thief or risk being thrown in jail.

Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief combines exciting stealth-action gameplay with a Robin Hood-inspired story. This game has been remastered from its original PS2 release and is making its Western debut on October 11, 2022, on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
