While most people were pretty excited for Fortnite’s new Chapter 3: Season 2 update, feelings got a bit mixed when players realized that Klombos wasn’t on the map anymore. If you weren’t aware, Klombos is a big dinosaur like creature that would roam around the map. You could interact with it by feeding it Klomberries which would sometimes cause it to spit out useful items.

While Klombos was mostly harmless, if you attacked it, you would quickly regret it because they would fire acid and stomp at you! You were also pretty helpless if this happened, because Klombos could not be killed… which might no longer be the case.

Not too long into the new season we started to get hints that Klombos would be returning to Fortnite. Klomberries returned to the map, which were the food item of choice for the prehistoric creature. While this wasn’t full confirmation, it obviously was a good sign for a return.

Now, it looks like there’s going to be more to do with Klombos according to leaker, HYPEX. In a tweet, they outlined that Epic is working on making Klombos killable, which if you can pull it off will reward players with a variety of different loot. These things include, ammo, building materials, consumables, and possibly weapons. One particularly interesting item is a special version of meat, that would likely be exclusive to Klombos.

If we were to speculate, Klombos’ meat would probably be pretty beneficial to the player. I could see it restoring shield and health or having some other great benefit. Whether or not a killable Klombos ends up in the game remains to be seen. Whatever the case might be, we will just be happy to see this lovable dinosaur back in action!
