Since it launched in Early Access in 2019, Last Epoch has cultivated a dedicated community actively contributing to the game’s refinement. Their valuable feedback continues to shape the game as it remains in active development. As such, many of them look forward to the future of this promising action role-playing game.
Initially slated for December 2023, Eleventh Hour Games announced last month that Last Epoch‘s full version will now launch on February 21st. Alongside this exciting announcement, the developer also disclosed that more details will be shared soon about Item Factions, The Warlock, The Falconer, and all the other improvements coming to Last Epoch‘s full version.
Today, Eleventh Hour Games has provided additional information on the features that players can expect in the Last Epoch 1.0 launch in the newly posted Development Update. A primary focus for the developers is to enhance both visual quality and overall performance. To achieve this, various modifications to the game’s lighting systems, shaders, and more are in the pipeline.
Notably, the Ambient Occlusion system has undergone significant improvements for the 1.0 version, resulting in more precise contact shadows and added depth to the in-game scenes. Another noteworthy addition is the introduction of the scene variant system, a major feature that allows for diverse and visually striking scenes.
Beyond visual enhancements, Last Epoch‘s Shaman Mastery is set to undergo substantial improvements. The developers are revisiting this formidable warrior of the north, implementing much-needed changes to bring it in line with other mastery options in Last Epoch. Additionally, Tempest Strike is getting a complete rework for 1.0, maintaining its name and theme while introducing entirely new mechanics, a revamped skill tree, and a redefined role as a skill.
Last Epoch will also receive some end-game rebalancing, specifically concerning endgame echo modifiers and corruption scaling. In this area, The developers are committed to addressing two key pieces of feedback—inequality, and obfuscation of Echo Modifiers and the effects of scaling corruption.
As the 1.0 launch approaches, players can look forward to a more polished and enriched Last Epoch experience made possible by the collaborative efforts of the dedicated community and Eleventh Hour Games.
