A known leaker Pyoro W on Twitter has referenced a Nintendo Switch port for The Outer Wilds. While the name hasn’t been said, the leaker mentioned roasting marshmallows on the Nintendo Switch and said the date that the port was originally announced. The leaker has been right pretty often so people are taking them seriously.
It started with a tweet “Finally we will be able to roast some marshmallows on the switch.” This let everyone know that it was something to do with the Nintendo Switch. Then another user asked “Do you know things? gives a clue” and the clue was “Feb 2021 Direct.” That’s the Direct where Outer Wilds port was announced but then delayed.
This has caused many to go straight to that as an answer. The reference could be that the game is too powerful to work on the Nintendo Switch so it’d burn up. That would be a way you could roast marshmallows on it. It could also be roasting marshmallows while playing the game. I happen to think it’s because the Outer Wilds is known for its campfire cover.
That would make the most sense and actually play into the whole leak. We don’t really know when anything like this will be announced but Pyoro is known to give leaks well ahead of time. For example, they predicted Pacman 99’s end of service a month in advance. So we may see it at another Nintendo Direct, the Game Awards, or somewhere else.
This may not be the biggest leak, but it shows that there will be huge reveals during the Game Awards. I think one of those will be more Mass Effect for us to learn about. However, we have no guarantees about what will be shown. We’ll have to wait and see until then.
