The second Darkin has entered Legends of Runterra. Unlike his kin, Varus is on the path of redemption and brings with him an army of magical archers blessed with the Darkin’s power. Varus as a champion has a ton of versatility in Legend of Runeterra, so for this guide we’re going to focus on a fun deck I call Treasure Bow.
Legends of Runeterra Varus deck guide
Varus’ level-up condition is for you to target allies 8 times. This can be done a ton of different ways with a lot of champions, but for this guide, we’re going to do it using Akshan and the brand-new weapon, Swinging Glaive. Swinging Glaive is an amazing weapon, which adds a lucky find in your hand after every strike from the equipped user. When paired with all the strike cards in Shurima, you can get multiple 0-cost buffs in hand every turn.

This deck was made using Mobaltyics, where you can view the deck yourself. To copy this deck to your Legends of Runeterra deck builder, use the code below.

The wincon with a leveled-up Varus is the fact that the Darkin Bow can turn varus into a +10 +0 Quick Attack with Overwhelm every turn. It does this by getting +2 on the equipment every time you cast a spell that turn, up to +10.
Play Akshan early and equip him with Swinging Glaive. Every time Akshan strikes with Swinging Glaive, it will add a Lucky Find to your hand. Using Lucky Find will both progress Akshan’s landmark cooldowns and Varus’ level-up condition.
Once Akshan has counted down his Sentinel’s Horde, use it to draw a Varus or buff both him and Akshan with +2 +2 and spellshield. Then, continue to use Lucky Find and Akshan to charge up The Darkin Bow when you need to attack, and use your massive Varus to destroy the enemy.
