LEGO Brawls, the casual fighting and platformer title from Red Games Co. and The Lego Group, has released a new trailer for a holiday-themed event. Players will be able to earn limited-time content during the Jingle Brawls event, which will round out the rest of the year, running between December 1st and December 31st, 2022.

LEGO Brawls is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Apple Arcade. For an overview of all the new content, you can watch today’s full trailer on PlayStation’s YouTube channel:

LEGO Brawls launched on Apple Arcade back in 2019, but it was only recently ported to consoles in early September, where it found a new audience. The port was sorely needed, since the LEGO brand and LEGO Brawls itself effectively reinforce a sense of freedom.

LEGO Brawls has discovered a new way to expand on the Super Smash Bros. formula, introducing distinguishable modes and remarkable customization. Players can actually build their character out of official LEGO parts, resulting in basically limitless creations.

Also, this opened up the floodgates for some tremendous holiday-themed content. There are a lot of familiar pieces in today’s trailer. And although many of the featured minifigures feel pretty obvious, such as Santa and a Snowman, little additions like candy cane weapons really round out the event regardless.

Jingle Brawls looks like a cute and promising way to get festive this year, and hopefully the broad theme will invite new players to try out the game. LEGO Brawls has appeared to be kind of sleeper hit, which boasts a strong player count but little buzz, likely due to its mobile origins.

Aside from the core modes like battle royale and free-for-all, it’ll be interesting to see how the new content joins collection levels. The holidays have always been a perfect fit with LEGO, so it’s hard not to indulge some nostalgia for this event.
