Limited Run Games has come together with Games Done Quick (GDQ) with the aim of utilizing speedrunning as a platform to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders. This initiative is set to usher in GDQ’s summer event, SGDQ. In celebration of this collaboration, Limited Run Games is launching a special foil cover variant of the recently released Trip World DX Switch physical edition.

This fundraising campaign is scheduled to run from the present day through to June 11th, 2023. With a solid commitment towards the cause, Limited Run Games has pledged to contribute $5 to Doctors Without Borders USA for each sold foil cover edition of the Trip World DX game. Furthermore, the company promises a minimum guaranteed donation amounting to $10,000.

Trip World DX is available as a region-free physical cart for the Nintendo Switch. The game presents an opportunity to traverse across four unique lands and Mount Dubious in a quest to restore peace and happiness to Trip World. This venture is spurred when the Maita flower, a symbol of world peace, gets stolen, plunging Trip World into chaos. The game, available in a special foil cover edition for charity, promises an exhilarating experience for players.

Embodying the game’s hero, Yakopoo, players are invited to harness his shapeshifting powers to save Trip World from looming darkness. The game offers various powers to the players, allowing them to race across the ground in a ball form or even grow a tail to fend off enemies.

The newly released DX edition of the game boasts unique features such as a museum mode that contains previously unseen design documents, video interviews with the original developer, music video, box scans, and much more. A music player featuring original remastered audio tracks, brand new arrangements, and a surprise track from another cult Sunsoft classic title.
