Publisher CI Games has officially released the gameplay trailer for the upcoming souls-like action RPG, Lords of the Fallen, following a leaked trailer that surfaced yesterday.
Spanning over four minutes, the recently released trailer from CI Games’ Youtube channel offers a look into the exciting combat sequences featured in Lords of the Fallen. Apart from the gameplay, the trailer also provided a glimpse into the sequel’s narrative, building on the foundation set by the original 2014 Lords of the Fallen.
From what has been shown so far, the gameplay in Lords of the Fallen appears to be impressive, characterized by its fast-paced nature, drawing comparisons to the renowned titles developed by FromSoftware. However, it deviates from the traditional dodge roll mechanic found in these games, opting for a quick-stepping maneuver instead. The formidable bosses displayed in the trailer promise challenging encounters that will require players to devise unique strategies.
As Elden Ring has been considered by many fans to have set the bar for the genre, Lords of the Fallen appears to be on track to meet the expectations set by its counterpart. The latest trailer showcases a comparable level of quality and depth. However, it is worth noting that Lords of the Fallen seems to lean towards a more linear gameplay experience, catering to those who may not have favored the open-world design of Elden Ring.
Lords of the Fallen is slated to launch on October 13th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It will also be available in physical copies with a Deluxe and Collector’s Edition, each of which will include the following items:
