How To Get Engravings In Lost Ark
Engravings unlock after hitting level 50, and become an integral part of the character progression for the rest of the game. Before then, the Engravings tab in the character menu will remain blank, with nothing there for you to worry about or interact with. But what are Engravings, and what can you look forward to unlocking when you hit Lost Ark’s end game?
What are Engravings in Lost Ark?
Engravings are a powerful set of customization options available to players in the late game. They provide increases to attributes and buffs that allow you to add much more depth to your character’s playstyle. Engravings are crucial, as the bonuses they provide to your character are incredibly powerful, and oftentimes parties will not accept players with improperly set up engravings.
Engravings can be compared to the champion point system in Elder Scrolls Online. These late-game buffs can be improved in a manner of ways to further empower your character with stronger effects. Players who already know what Engravings are might be wondering how to improve them.
How to Increase Engraving Level in Lost Ark
Engravings come with three levels of power, with each level requiring five points two activate. With five points in an Engraving, you activate that Engraving’s level one power, with ten level two, and with fifteen level three. At level three, an Engraving reaches its strongest level of power.
Jewelry
Engravings levels can be increased in multiple ways. The easiest way is with jewelry, which will come with random Engraving boosts built-in. For example, you may find a ring that adds +3 points to an engraving. If you already have two points in that Engraving, with the ring you would then have five, activating that Engraving’s level one power.
Engraving Books
Engraving books allow you to increase the points in your Engravings. Engraving books come in four levels of quality
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Heroic
- Legendary
Each rarity of engraving book grants you +3 points to that Engraving, with Uncommon Engravings giving +3 and Legendary giving you a total of +12. You will need 20 books of one quality to increase that Engraving, and each quality of engraving requires the previous quality to be applied first; You can’t use Legendary engraving books until first using 20 of the Heroic quality, etc.
Ability Stones
Ability Stones are some of the most powerful items for end-game Lost Ark players to find. By using the faceting system at an ability stone smith, you can use Ability Stones to permanently increase your points in an Engraving. Ability Stones come with a bit of RNG, so you can expect to go through a lot of them during your end-game grind.
Because of their rarity and value, the right Ability Stones are incredibly valuable on the market boards. It may be more worth it to sell your lucky Ability Stone drop instead of using it.
