Developer Ocean Drive Studio has made an exciting announcement, revealing a new spin-off game to its 2022 turn-based tactical RPG, Lost Eidolons. Titled Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch, this latest installment will retain many of Lost Eidolons‘ core elements, including a few characters, although the gameplay and general presentation will be a major departure.
Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch is a turn-based tactical RPG with rogue-lite elements. It takes place in the same world as Lost Eidolons and is set shortly after the events of the first game. Nonetheless, Veil of the Witch promises to offer an entirely standalone experience, meaning newcomers won’t need any prior knowledge of the original title to play. Furthermore, Veil of the Witch is fast, gameplay-driven, and hits the ground running immediately, compared to the linear, story-driven RPG format of the first game.
The game’s narrative begins with players finding themselves stranded on a mysterious island with scattered memories. The Witch of the Crossroads presented them an intriguing offer, setting players to be cast back to the land of the living. As players strive to recover their lost memories, they will travel to the shores of a mysterious island and battle the armies of the dead.
Venturing across the island, players will recruit allies who will join them in their quest, fighting across diverse battlefield environments. Players will grow bonds and learn the stories of their allies, as well as help them regain the things they have lost.
Throughout their journey, players will confront formidable enemies, including giant monsters, stubborn undeads, and imperial zealots. To conquer these challenging combat encounters, players will wield every skill and weapon at their disposal. Players will have access to more than 200 unique skills, upgradeable equipment, and over 30 Artifacts, they can use to enhance the capabilities of nine unique characters.
Currently, the exact release date for Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch is unknown, but the game is confirmed to launch soon on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
