Lycoris Recoil is an upcoming TV anime about cute girls who manage a cafe and fight crime in their free time. The season will be broadcasted from July 2, 2022, on TOKYO MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, BS11, and others in Japan, and Crunchyroll during the Summer 2022 anime season.
The official trailer for the anime showcases the main characters, their lives at the cafe, and the crime they fight in their spare time.
Lycoris Recoil follows a secret organization that prevents crimes, DA-Direct Attack, and their all-girl members known as Lycoris. The peace that everyone can enjoy is thanks to these young girls.
The most elite and strongest of the Lycoris are a girl named Chisato Nishikigi, who is known to be a cheerful and optimistic pacifist, and Takina Inoue, who is talented, coolheaded, efficient, and mysterious.
Together, they work in one of the DA’s branches, Cafe LycoReco. Here, the cafe’s orders range from coffee to sweets to childcare. They will even teach Japanese to international students. But with their opposing personalities, the mismatched duo are about to experience very chaotic lives as they fight crime and help others.
This action and comedy anime is produced by Aniplex, known for their works Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, and Demon Slayer. Also, the director of the series, Shingo Adachi, is known for his work on Sword Art Online and Durarara!!
The main Japanese voice actors for this series include:
- Chika Anzai, who will voice Chisato Nishikigi. Chika is known for her roles as Chisa Kotegawa from Grand Blue, Hanabi Yasuraoka from Scum’s Wish, and Reina Kousaka from Sound! Euphonium.
- Shion Wakayama, who will voice Takina Inoue. Shion is also known for her roles as Destiny from Takt Op. Destiny, Yume Minami from SSSS.Dynazenon, and Aoi Aioi from Her Blue Sky.
The English voice actors for Lycoris Recoil have yet to be revealed.
