Yacht Club Games, the makers of the incredibly popular Shovel Knight franchise, have announced that they will be headed back to Kickstarter for another round of funding. This time, however, they are promoting their new game called Mina The Hollower! While the artstyle of this new IP is similar, you will find that the gameplay is a bit different.

In Mina the Hollower, you will be playing in a top down view instead of the 2D gameplay of Shovel Knight. This game features influences from classic titles, such as Castlevania, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and Bloodborne.

The flow of the game revolves around playing as Mina, who wields a whip and can burrow underground to dodge around foes and confound them. You can also gain speed by burrowing, which will help you cross larger gaps in the terrain.

The Kickstarter for Mina the Hollower is catching a lot of attention already, and is more than halfway to the goal as of this writing. Shovel Knight was also funded this way and the developers were able to deliver a well made product. Based on what has been shown already of the game, it looks like they are already pretty far along in the process.

If you do want to donate to the creation of the game, if you donate $20 USD or more, you will be able to get a copy of Mina the Hollower once it is released on the platform of your choice. Unfortunately, donators with big pockets have already gotten the big prize pledge. This gave you the ability to meet with the Yacht Club Games design team and give input on a major element of the game!

The trailer which features a great look at the gameplay and theme of the game so far has been released, so be sure to check it out below!
