Marvel Contest of Champions, the superhero-themed mobile fighting game from developer and publisher Kabam, just released a brand-new teaser for upcoming champions Adam Warlock and Moondragon. Marvel Contest of Champions is available now on iOS or Android devices. You can watch today’s full cinematic teaser on the Marvel Contest of Champions YouTube channel:
Although it’s a bit of a shame the teaser is purely cinematic, the action is still well-staged, and it does showcase the abilities that players should expect from each new champion.
Adam Warlock will probably be the most recognizable face here, since they will be showing up in the upcoming MCU sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Some fans were taken aback that the character design resembles the MCU version played by Will Poulter. However, it is still the MCU that has made more obscure characters so accessible for casual audiences, forming a common shorthand.
It’s very unlikely that broader players will be familiar with fun characters like Moondragon. She’s a welcome addition that continues to prove that the sheer volume and potential reach of Marvel Contest of Champion’s roster is a big highlight.
The new champions’ costumes look adequately detailed, as do the effects of their various abilities, which have quite the range in the comics. That’s going to make a deeper look into their kit very interesting, as they could possibly rattle the meta with the right combat.
Fortunately, a deeper dive for the champions is expected soon. A Kabam livestream is scheduled for 9 AM pacific time on the official Kabam Twitch channel, where players will also have a look at some new quests. The livestream was announced just last night on the Marvel Contest of Champions Twitter feed:
