Marvel Snap, the digital strategy card game that recently launched last October by Second Dinner, has unveiled a brand-new roadmap for updates that are both in-development and still in early conceptual stages. The game is available on PC, Android and iOS. No concrete release dates were confirmed for any of the 2023 plans.

Marvel Snap is yet another successful translation of the classic Marvel IP, adapting familiar concepts from the comics and films into exhilarating card gameplay. It’s been met with highly positive fan feedback, by understanding the appeal of the characters, their setting, and satisfying tabletop mechanics.
It also succeeds as a video game, making the most of its animations and creating something a little more immersive than some of its precedents.
Also, players take turns simultaneously, competing to outscore each other with classic heroes at various famous locations. So, the unusual pacing is definitely a win compared to traditional card games, digital or otherwise.
But there are more than a few things that were sorely missing, so it’s nice to see some social additions could be joining the game soon. Guilds, being social systems, would be a great way to let the community organize their own events and more. Adding emotes and emojis clearly hint that the devs want to create more social interaction within Marvel Snap, whatever form that takes.
Meanwhile, Unranked Mode will be more inviting to casual players, though such modes tend to become highly unbalanced in competitive games. Also, the devs plan to add controller support and widescreen UI for PC users, where the most competitive players likely reside. It seems like Marvel Snap is doing a decent job of trying to please every kind of fan.
It’ll be interesting to see what kind of modes and events they can add. Content that adds more gameplay choices and freedom is generally what really wins over fans.
It’s clear that 2023 will be very ambitious for Marvel Snap. If you want further details on their plans, make sure to head over to the official blog post about these features on the Marvel Snap website.
