Marvel Snap, the popular card battler set in the Marvel universe, has unveiled a comprehensive roadmap for the future. It looks like a year crammed with new features and events. From customizable card effects to competitive in-game events, the developers at Second Dinner have a big list of hopes.

Topping the roadmap are features nearing completion, like album improvements, which provide an easier and more diverse emote collection. Players also get the much-requested ability to choose card effects and borders separately, being able to design how everything looks down to the detail. In-game events are another anticipated addition, kicking off with “Leagues,” a competitive ladder system where players of similar skills battle for supremacy.

Looking further ahead, development is actively underway on features like Clans 1.0, which encourages collaboration. Booster Vats offer targeted character advancement, while an in-game graveyard will provide match history for all players. There’s also an “In Concept” section discussing other things the developers hope will come in time.

A brand new game mode was mentioned in that new section, alongside fresh game boards and the intriguing possibility of Clan Competitions. Ultimate Variant Evolution hints at deeper customization options for your favorite card styles, and new card mechanics promise to inject even more strategic depth into the gameplay.

The developers spoke about everything in more detail, but those are the most important parts that most fans would be concerned about. The developers encouraged players to share their thoughts and ideas because they’re still evolving. There’s no doubt that this roadmap paints a picture of a much more improved game at the end of 2024.

We’ll have to wait and see how far the game will actually go because a lot of the roadmap just has “in development” and “in concept” features. So I wouldn’t get my hopes too high.
