Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE has finally arrived on the Nintendo Switch today. Spike Chunsoft, the publisher behind this lucid-noir detective adventure game, has also made an exciting announcement regarding the forthcoming downloadable content. Fans can expect four DLCs in total, with the first expansion titled ‘Ch. Desuhiko: Charisma Killed the Cat,’ scheduled for launch on July 27, 2023. Following DLC 1’s release, subsequent expansions are expected to launch in August, September, and October.
Each Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE DLC will showcase intriguing substories featuring the Master Detectives and can be purchased separately for $4.99 or as part of the Season Pass, available for $15.99. For those seeking a full experience, the Season Pass is included in the $89.99 Digital Deluxe Edition.
The first DLC of Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE will focus on Desuhiko Thunderbolt, one of the Master Detectives dispatched to Kanai Ward whose Forensic Forte is Disguise. Desuhiko is described as a young man with a goofball nature who likes hitting on women under the guise of investigation. Desuhiko’s goal is to become famous as a mystery-solving superstar detective. He carries a huge backpack filled with tools necessary for his disguises. In addition to disguising his clothes and face, Desuhiko can also change his voice, height, and weight, allowing him to match the target of disguise visually and psychologically.
Alongside the base game’s launch, Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE version 1.3.0 was also released. This latest update includes minor fixes to text, adjustments to voice and sound effects, changes to certain maps, characters, and graphics, as well as modifications to specific events and text overlaps. Furthermore, various bugs have been resolved, and the update also introduces a launch to eShop functionality required for downloading the upcoming DLCs.
Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE is a brand-new IP from the creators of the hit Danganronpa series. Set in a neon-lit city of rain, the game follows the journey of Yuma, a trainee detective haunted by the spirit Shinigami. In this game, players will travel freely within the fully 3D environment collecting evidence and testimonies related to the unsolved mysteries of a city under the complete control of a megacorporation.
