Today, the team behind Melty Blood: Type Lumina, the newest game in the Melty Blood fighting series and a direct prequel to Tsukihime-A piece of blue glass moon-, revealed the game’s next two free DLC fighters, Mario Gallo Bestino and Powered Ciel. The characters are set to be released on April 14, 2022, at 06:00 (UTC).

Both Mario and Ciel will also come together with their respective character story chapters and featured stages. The characters will be the 16th and 17th overall members of the title’s ever-growing roster.

Meet Powered Ciel

Powered Ciel will make use of the Seventh Holy Scripture, a holy relic that she can use to perform a wide range of devastating attacks. Also, according to both her trailer and official descriptions, Powered Ciel seems to be a character capable of performing powerful sequences in a wide area, as well as one capable of countering many of her opponent’s combos thanks to her unguardable attacks.

Meet Mario Gallo Bestino

Different from Ciel, which is one of the main heroines of not only Tsukihime-A piece of blue glass moon- but also of the original Tsukihime, Mario Gallo Bestino was introduced in the remake. Mario is the current Acting Prelate of the Holy Church. He is also known by many as “the Puppeteer.”

According to his trailer, as well as his official description, Mario Gallo Bestino will be focused on dealing fast strikes. He will also fight alongside many Sisters, all controlled by his “Piano Machine” ability. You can currently play Melty Blood: Type Lumina on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch, and PC, via Steam.
