Melvor Idle’s second expansion ‘Atlas of Discovery’ coming next month

Melvor Idle is getting its second major addition with new skills to master and loot to find in September.

There are fewer and fewer idle games, but occasionally inspiration strikes a developer and we get something uniquely special. Melvor Idle is a title that draws inspiration from Runescape but is reduced to its individual parts, with its second major expansion Atlas of Discovery releasing on September 7.

Melvor Idle features a range of idle mechanics that will allow players to passively accrue resources, go on adventures, and engage in a classic RPG adventure with innovative mechanics. Unlike the game it takes inspiration from, this title from Games by Malcs promises a more casual experience that is continuing to expand after its release two years ago, shown in the trailer below.

There are a range of new features and content added to the game as part of this major expansion. Atlas of Discovery brings new skills, game modes, and a range of other content. All of the new additions to Melvor Idle in the Atlas of Discovery expansion include:

  • Cartography and Archaeology skills
  • Ancient Relics game mode
  • Over 600 new items
  • 46 new monsters
  • Eight new Combat Areas
  • Three new Slayer Areas
  • Five new dungeons
  • Over 10 new pets
  • A new Unholy Prayer Book with 17 new Prayers
  • New Barrier combat mechanic
  • Gem slot addition for equipment
  • A new tier of upgraded combat gear
  • Two new trees in Woodcutting
  • Two new ore nodes in Mining
  • Two new potions in Herblore
  • A new Summoning Familiar for Barrier which combines will with existing familiars
  • Brand new items for Smithing, Fletching, Crafting, and Runecrafting
  • New Astrology Constellation
  • Two new Ancient Magicks Spells
  • Two new Alt Magic Spells
  • Two new Magic Auroras
  • Two new Magic Curses
  • Three new Agility Obstacles
  • New upgrades for skills in the shop
  • 20 new Township Tasks

This is sure to add hours of fun and a range of new content for players to enjoy. Melvor Idle is currently on sale on Steam for $5.99 plus tax until August 5, 2023.
