In the world of Full Void, where humans have allowed artificial intelligence to run uncontrolled, players will take on the role of a teenager struggling to survive. The unique pixel platformer from OutOfTheBit is billing itself as a family-friendly horror platformer that seeks to be as beautiful as it is haunting.
In the release date announcement trailer, players can see the young teenager sneaking from the sight of others and avoiding rabid dogs who seek to hurt him. There are multiple puzzles shown, including one where the character uses objects to swing across large gaps and very detailed close-ups of the character in more intense moments.
While the game is mostly 2D, OutOfTheBit stresses that due to the detail and expansion of some areas in the game, players will feel fully immersed in this world faced with a tech apocalypse. The team wanted to ensure that the title was family-friendly, even as horror, so there is no gore or explicitly violent moments, so it’s safe for any watchful eyes that might be nearby.
Developer OutOfTheBit has previously released titles like the Super Arcade series, which features pretty simple arcade titles that are reminiscent of classic games. Before that, they developed dozens of titles for mobile devices, so Full Void is coming from a wealth of experience creating games.
In a quote shared with Try Hard Guides, OutOfTheBit speaks on recent award nominations, “The artistic value of Full Void was recognised by the recent double nomination to the Indie Cup UK ‘23 in the categories “Rising Star” and “Critics’ choice.”
Players can wishlist Full Void now on Steam ahead of its release on July 18.
