Microsoft Flight Simulator continues to impress its users by incorporating fascinating new landscapes with its latest World Update 13. This expansion covers the diverse regions of Oceania and Antarctica, including remote coral islands, white sand beaches, towering volcanoes, uninhabited rainforests, and modern cities.
World Update 13 introduces a total of 13 countries and 28 non-sovereign territories in Polynesia, Melanesia, the Galapagos Islands, and key regions of Antarctica, all based on the latest aerial photographs, satellite imagery, and digital elevation modeling data. The update provides improved resolution for pilots to explore stunning new vistas throughout these areas. For instance, it includes an updated height field for Hawaii and features the city of Honolulu with dozens of handmade buildings.

In collaboration with Orbx, 150 points of interest (POIs) have been created throughout the region, featuring iconic landmarks such as Easter Island’s Moai monoliths, Indonesia’s Autograph Tower, Antarctic research bases, and the Point Venus Lighthouse on Tahiti. Additionally, Orbx has crafted over a dozen airports to challenge even the most skilled STOL (short take-off and landing) aviators, including highlands dirt airstrips in Papua New Guinea, Easter Island’s Mataveri International Airport, and Hawaii’s Kona International Airport.
To showcase the best of Oceania, Perfect Flight has developed eleven missions, including five discovery flights, three landing challenges, and three bush trips. Pilots can soar through the West Maui Mountains, explore Tahiti, fly over Hawaii’s Mauna Kea, and embark on a Central Java adventure, among others.
World Update 13: Oceania and Antarctica is available for free to all Microsoft Flight Simulator owners. To experience the incredible detail of Oceania and Antarctica, ensure your simulator is updated to the latest version and download World Update 13.
