When the industry thinks of major places for game developers in America, cities like Chicago, Boston, or San Francisco might come to mind, but there’s a great unexplored ocean of talent in the middle of the country. However, Midwest Games has announced that it is opening as a publisher to help get games from that region more recognition on an international stage, also announcing its first title today.
The company is headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and is founded by former senior management from Netflix senior management Ben Kvalo. The publisher’s primary investment is coming from a company it shares the building with, Titletown Tech, which is allegedly anchored by its investments in proven companies like Microsoft and the Green Bay Packers.

In addition to Kvalo, the publisher is also bringing on senior members from Crunchy Roll, Striking Distance Studios, and ProbablyMonsters. The team is looking forward to empowering those in “under-served regions” in the United States, referring to the lack of local options for developers in the Midwest. Alongside the announcement of the publisher, Midwest Games has also announced it will publish RA RA BOOM.
RA RA BOOM is an upcoming semi-side scroller co-op beat-em-up from developer Gylee Games that’s reminiscent of arcade titles with iconic characters that have unique abilities. Players will take on the role of a group of ninja cheerleaders from space who are going to save humanity from an apocalyptic robot threat. Players can currently wishlist RA RA BOOM on Steam.
