In less than two weeks since its launch, Minecraft Legends has already captivated the attention of over 3 million players. The game’s developers are now introducing the first update, version 1.17.28951, which has started rolling out to all supported platforms. This update aims to address feedback from the community and improve the gaming experience.
Matchmaking has been one of the main areas addressed in this update. Players can now invite friends to a lobby and join the same team before finding other players in matchmaking. Additionally, the time taken to start a matchmaking game has been reduced from 60 seconds to 10 seconds, resulting in much quicker match starts once at least six players have joined a public lobby. However, the 60-second timer will still be present in some matches until the update reaches all platforms.
The update also focuses on performance and stability improvements, fixing several crashes that could occur during gameplay, game launch, campaign start, and when mobs were directed by a player when attacking the Nether Beacon Base. Issues with piglins spawning from piglin launcher crates before the crate hit the ground and magma cubes causing audio spam when colliding with units have also been resolved.
For Nintendo Switch users, the update brings enhanced input latency, multiple performance improvements for smoother gameplay, and faster world loading speeds, particularly around piglin bases. A crash issue when loading into co-op Campaign has also been fixed.
Furthermore, the update includes localization improvements, particularly in Arabic and Hebrew, where several enhancements have been made to text wrapping. In the Japanese localization, the O button on PlayStation is now used to enter the game, and various translation issues have been fixed, such as “Orange Team” on several screens, “Log” in the Versus Mode lobby, and “Beak’s Eye View” on the post-game screen. Unnecessary text, “~007E,” has been removed from the Private Match description.
