Merge Games has announced that the narrative-driven, social simulation adventure game, Mineko’s Night Market, will soon be released in physical editions for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. Developed by Meowza Games and published by Humble Games, Mineko’s Night Market was initially announced for a digital release on Nintendo Switch and PC on September 26, 2023, followed by a PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One release on October 26th.
Mineko’s Night Market follows the story of Mineko, a curious girl who has just arrived at her new home on a struggling Japanese-inspired island at the base of Mount Fugu. The superstitious locals on the island worship the Sun Cat, Nikko. To everyone’s surprise, sightings of Nikko have begun to surface among the residents of the island, leaving the entire town puzzled.
As they take on the role of Mineko, players will uncover the secrets of the town while striving to revitalize the struggling village to its former glory. Players will also take part and compete in a variety of Night Market games such as themed parades, cat racing, and stage performances.
Mineko’s Night Market also challenges players to solve puzzles, evade nosy Agents, and sneak into locked areas with various disguises. The game also allows players to craft peculiar items with the resources they find around the world through a variety of work-bench mini-games. Players may also forge meaningful connections with the townsfolks and engage in bartering at the weekly Night Market, where anything they create or find can be sold.
The physical edition of Mineko’s Night Market is now available for pre-order exclusively on the Signature Edition Games online store. Those interested can secure their copy for £29.99 for the Nintendo Switch version and £24.99 for the PS5 version. As an added bonus, pre-purchasers will also receive two exclusive enamel pins featuring Mineko and Nikko, available for a limited time only.
