Netflix’s surprise hit Money Heist, also known as La Casa de Papel, just dropped a new trailer for its upcoming mobile game adaptation. Because Netflix now offers mobile games of its own, players should expect to find it available with a subscription upon release.

You can watch the complete trailer reveal here:

Although the trailer is brief, barely half a minute, it packs in a lot of information to break down. The art design resembles cel-shaded classics, a smart approach that fits the personality of the show. It should also help hide some of the natural quality issues with mobile games.

La Casa de Papel’s game is being developed by Netflix and an indie studio named Killasoft, based out of Barranquilla, Colombia. Their only recognizable release before this has been Inner, a neat black-and-white stealth game that also features hacking and action.

The plot of La Casa de Papel won’t actually run through the show storyline, but instead create its own narrative. So, you don’t have to worry about predicting what happens next. It does take place in the same universe though, so players might just run into some familiar faces.

Naturally, the adventure game will revolve around a heist, and there is a clear focus on stealth gameplay in the trailer. This includes hacking security systems, quietly taking out guards, and crawling through vents.

For fellow Spanish-speaking gamers, this is definitely some fun representation, just like the series itself. In fact, the show previously got an event tie-in with Rainbow 6: Siege.

The hosts of Netflix’s Geeked Week stream also reveal that the game will have safe-picking and lock-picking minigames and shooting sequences.

Unfortunately, no release date has been officially decided just yet. So, be sure to keep up with La Casa de Papel, mobile games and other indie surprises in our news section!
