One Punch Man: World, an upcoming action game based on the hit anime, has just been announced with a new gameplay trailer. From Perfect World Games and Crunchyroll Games, One Punch Man: World will feature a variety of fan favorite characters to unlock and upgrade, world exploration, and rewarding combat inspired by the first season of One Punch Man.

One Punch Man: World does not currently have a release date, but it’s expected to be “coming soon”. A new tweet from Crunchyroll also reveals the game will be available on PC, iOS, and Android. Pre-registration for the PC version is open now. You can watch today’s official announcement trailer on the Crunchyroll Collection YouTube channel:

It’s a little surprising that One Punch Man: World is going to support mobile platforms, especially when it would excel on consoles. There’s certainly a large enough fanbase, and the trailer description on IGN’s YouTube channel elaborates that it will support “cross-platform play and progression”.

Some of the characters will include Saitama, Genos, Speed-o’-Sound Sonic, Mumen Rider, Lightning Max and more. The official website appears to include a full roster, which already offers a decent variety, though there are plenty more to add later on.

One Punch Man: World promises to live up to its title with today’s trailer, with fully realized 3D environments and a lot of familiar faces. Z-City has incredible graphics and fine details. But there also seem to be plenty of side quests and minigames that breathe a lot of life into it.

Combat is central to the anime, and it does look decent here. Despite a little stiffness, the trailer makes it clear that all footage is from a Beta version. The content itself should please fans, with some notable abilities and signature flurries of punches.
