Full Quiet, an upcoming open world mystery and survival adventure from developer Retrotainment Games and publisher 8-Bit Legit, has released an official trailer. It features the basic premise of the game, as well as an overview of features.
Full Quiet currently doesn’t have a release date, but it’s “coming soon”. Note that one of the limited edition product pages has a release date for July 7th, 2023, which may hint at other launches. Full Quiet will be available on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and even the NES.
Further, a new tweet from 8-Bit Legit confirms that pre-orders will be available on June 30th, 2023. You can watch today’s official trailer on the 8-Bit Legit YouTube channel:
Full Quiet’s latest trailer is pretty effective. It shows off a fair variety of mechanics, stages, and enemies, all of which balance retro charm with some modern sensibilities. The game offers different perspectives and ideas, but they do complement each other.
There is definitely more content here than expected. The puzzle mechanics fit the mysterious tone, but hopefully they’re woven in organically. And although the notion of open worlds and resource management doesn’t fully represent Full Quiet’s influences, they do match the adventurous action.
The music and visuals should be more than nostalgic enough. That soundtrack absolutely nails it, with catchy retro tunes that are patient enough to fit the story.
8-Bit Legit is renowned for their effective cartridge releases, and Full Quiet looks to be no exception. Games feel less like nostalgia bait and more like they’re preserving gaming culture when they’re legitimately released on the NES.
Additionally releasing Full Quiet on all major platforms should help bridge modern audiences with an older style and renew some appreciation for a classic age of gaming.
