In a highly anticipated live premiere, Nacon has revealed more details about the upcoming open-world racing game, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown. Breaking away from its predecessor, this new title in the TDU franchise promises to provide players with a realistic driving experience enriched with simulation elements.
Set in a 1:1 recreation of Hong Kong Island, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown offers players an immersive blend of driving and lifestyle experiences. The organizers of the Solar Crown competition selected Hong Kong as the host city due to its multifaceted nature, serving as the ideal playground to settle the dispute between the Sharps and the Streets.
During the recent TDU Connect event, fans were treated to a glimpse of a thrilling Sharps versus Streets match. Alain Jarniou, Creative Director at KT Racing, along with Camille Courtier, KT Racing’s Associate Producer, and Alan Boiston, Team VVV’s Racing Specialist, joined forces as members of the Sharps clan. Meanwhile, the Streets clan was composed of Guillaume Guinet, Lead Game Designer at KT Racing, and racing content creators Alex VII and BlackPanthaa.
Various notable features of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown were also showcased during the heated racing match. The game’s remarkable high-fidelity graphics were immediately noticeable. In addition, the detailed recreated streets of Hong Kong, complete with left-hand traffic, provided a true-to-life experience. The cars exhibit sleek designs that accurately captured their real-world counterparts and the realistic driving experience was also emphasized.
In addition to the exciting gameplay, the event also offered a look into the distinctive headquarters of the Sharps and Streets clans. The stark contrast between the two clans became evident, with the Sharps’ headquarters exuding a luxurious and refined ambiance, while the Streets’ headquarters embraced an underground aesthetic with neon-lit club vibes.
