As usual, Naraka: Bladepoint’s cinematics are visually gorgeous, carefully balancing grounded physics with fantasy in the same way that its influences always have.

Ziping Yin has been perfectly incorporated into Naraka, with a brief explanation of how she arrives. She resists a mysterious whirlpool of energy at first, but when she realizes that entering it is irreversible, she accepts the change and boldly soars ahead. It’s a clever way to quickly speak volumes about the character.

Ziping Yin’s abilities and mechanics

Next, fans finally get a look at Ziping’s abilities in-game, alongside some very thorough explanations of their mechanics.

First off is “Aromatherapy”, which releases Ligneous Energy and literally plants Spiritual Twigs in the field that last 10 seconds. Allies who are nearby the twigs, or touched by the energy, get some of their health and armor restored through.

“Aromatherapie: Umarmen” is a buffed version of Aromatherapy, instead giving allies both healing energy and Inspiration. The Inspiration is triggered when allied units are hit, creating a shield that prevents interruption by non-Focus strikes.

“Saving Grace” consumes Rage to restore all allies’ health and armor, and even increases restoration capability by 30%.

This truly lives up to the ability’s name, so it’ll be interesting to see how this balances out in-game, and if it’s nerfed sometime soon. The buffed version, “Saving Grace: Aegis”, has the same effects but also grants “Sedate Soul”.

Sedate Soul can negate one fatal strike, restores health by 300 and increases damage reduction for 5 seconds. It also briefly knocks nearby enemies into the air, which could be a great setup for allies.

The trailer concludes with some gameplay of Ziping’s spear and crossbow in action. You can read more about Naraka: Bladepoint by checking out our news section!
