In While We Wait Here, players will be tasked to manage Nora and Cliff’s Diner, a cozy establishment located near a mountain range. Players will take orders from customers, cook them good food, and serve them refreshments. However, the ordinary working routine eventually took an eerie turn with the arrival of a colossal and ominous storm.

As the threat of an impending apocalypse looms, players will encounter a diverse cast of customers with varying reactions. Some of them seem to ignore it, blinded by their own problems they play the whole thing down or even refuse to believe it. Others welcome it as punishment for what they have done in their life. As players wait inside the diner, they will listen to their stories and offer them food for thought.

While We Wait Here offers extensive replayability with multiple endings to discover in every playthrough. Despite its psychological horror elements, the game emphasizes a meditative experience where there are no game over screens, and choices are entirely in the hands of the player. Additionally, the game features numerous first-person interactions, with fully-voiced characters.
