Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, the team-based online fighting game from developer Soleil Ltd. and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment, has released a new trailer for Season Pass 6. The free update is available now, focusing on Minato Namikaze (Reanimation).

However, today’s trailer also teased upcoming additions. Volume 35 is slated to include Obito Uchiha, and Volume 36 will feature Kaguya Otsutsuki. Extra Ninjutsu DLC will add “The Piercing One-Fingered Thrust of Hell”.

There were no release dates confirmed for the upcoming content, but they are “coming soon”. You can watch the full trailer on PlayStation’s YouTube channel here:

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker has been equally praised and criticized for its simplicity. There isn’t very much to do, but its gameplay loop is smooth, action-packed, and easy to pick up.

Also, there’s no denying the devs’ ability to successfully adapt beloved characters from the classic IP. Although the game originally launched a few years ago, the game gets by thanks to the addition of new characters, who are consistently thematic.

Anime has a very particular kind of motion, style, and vibrance that can be difficult translate into video games without losing its true personality. Fortunately, each new character lives up to those standards, and introduces some interesting little twist. They generally won’t shake up the meta, but it’s often fun to master and adapt to.

Such is the case for Minato Namikaze (Reanimation), whose Guiding Thunder and Air Slices are built to create just a little more surprise in battle. Basically, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is sort of fueled by fan service, and that isn’t necessarily a fault, since the mechanics are solid enough to keep coming back.
