The Need for Speed series started way back in 1994, launching one of the premier racing games that continue to release to this day, with Need for Speed: Unbound releasing last year. Now it seems that Criterion Games is hiring for a new title in the series, seeking to “take the Need for Speed franchise to the next level,” according to a job posting on LinkedIn.
The job post is looking for a World Artist to “help us on our new and exciting endeavor to create an open world offering the player a fast, visceral, and authentic experience.” It seems that the poster, Criterion Games, is looking for help on a new open-world title that the developer wants to be a major opportunity for the Need for Speed franchise.

As is more standard for racing games nowadays, the game looks to feature an open world with high-quality audio and visuals. The job posting doesn’t reveal much outside of that and standard design duties which involve helping to build that world.
