If you’re a fan of customizing your hardware, then your time is now, because if you own a PS5 you can get yourself up to three different colors for your console. This is a relatively new phenomenon, as controllers have mostly been the target for customization. While themed consoles have existed, you were generally forced to purchase the full device again to get it. Sony has changed this for the PS5, whether you have the disc drive or fully digital version.
There are three new colored covers available to be released on June 17th, 2022: Galactic Purple, Starlight Blue, and Nova Pink. Each one retails for $54.99 USD and can be pre-ordered via the PlayStation Direct Store. Like most things hardware, it’s possible that these get sold out, so make sure to snap up the one you want quickly just in case. If you want to go further, you can also purchase a matching DualSense Controller.
Two covers were available previously, which are Midnight Black and Cosmic Red. The black version is currently sold out, but the red option is still available. We will see if these three new colors are able to stay on the shelves.
When you make your purchase, be sure to pick the one that corresponds with your console! There are two types, disc and digital, so don’t accidentally buy the wrong one!
