A new pokémon, Wiglett, with similar characteristics to Diglett, is coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Previously, Pokémon Company held a fake webinar revealing a the new Pokémon, Wiglett. T In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the Wiglett was found on a beach in the Paldean Region by the Pokémon World Ecological Society. Among all currently existing pokémons, the new pokémon has a striking resemblance to Diglett, thus, earning the name Wiglett.

It has been speculated that Wiglett is an evolved version of Diglett. This Pokémon did not evolve into Dugtrio but rather took on a different shape that was more suited to its aquatic habitat. However, it is yet unclear whether Wiglett has the same type as the Ground-type Diglett, as it is very unlikely that Diglett would reside near water in the first place.

As stated in the notes of Jacq, a researcher in the Paldean region, “Although they appeared to be the Paldean Form of Diglett, we’ve learned that they live and eat differently as if they are entirely different pokémon. According to the research, it is said that it is a coincidence that they have similar bodies as they both burrow in the ground and the sand.” Pokémon has yet to release further details regarding Wiglett. Presumably, a full reveal about Wiglett will soon become available, much as the disclosure concerning Grafaiai.

With to the expansive nature of the Pokémon ecosystem, it is always highly thrilling to find new Pokémon. The Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be available for purchase on November 18. The Paldean Region will serve as the stage for the introduction of the ninth generation of Pokémon, which will be included in the game. Fans are particularly interested to learn more about the Paldean area and the wide variety of Pokémon that can be found there. Wiglett will be essential in determining how Pokémon adjust to new environments in the future.
