Silent Hill as a franchise is horror game royalty. Originally released way back in 1999, it scared the pants off players not only with genuinely terrifying monsters and moments but with a deep psychological thriller theme unlike anything else seen in the horror game market at the time. The original Silent Hill will forever remain one of the scariest and most iconic games of all time, and fans of it are in luck, as a brand new Silent Hill is in development by the same team.

This exciting information comes to us from MaGs, Movie and Game, The French-language media channel managed to snag an interview with Christophe Gans, the director of the first Silent Hill movie. In this interview, Gans confirms that a new Silent Hill game is currently being worked on by Team Silent, the creators of the original Silent Hill.

It’s currently unclear if this new Silent Hill title will be an original entry in the series or not. However, given that Team Silent are working on it, there is a chance that the creators of the first Silent Hill are looking to remake and modernize their masterpiece for a new audience.

Whatever the case, be the lookout for more terrifyingly exciting news for a new Silent Hill title. Given typical dev times, it’s likely that we will see a release date for this game somewhere in the 2023 to 2025 timeframe, with plenty of news coming out before then.
