The New World 1.9.3 patch update is scheduled for release on May 9 at 11:00 PM PT (6:00 AM UTC) with downtime expected to last approximately one hour. Key changes in the update include fixes to Gear Set Slots, Springtide Bloom adjustments, and several other improvements.
In the World Experience section, Springtide Bloom now allows players to purchase Beekeeper and Springtime Ruffles apparel sets individually. The update also introduces a Heartrune charge to the Wispy Wasp swarm, and the Springtide Premium Token recipe is now correctly listed as “Premium Token” in the crafting menu. Players can now get four Springtide Jingle coin bags daily, up from three.
Quest adjustments include fixes to the ‘Book Three: Parodos in A Spear to Pierce the Heavens’ questline, where Periville Guards now drop the Intact Spear Haft quest item. Additionally, returning players who have only completed part of the original main story quest can now speak to Yonas in Brightwood to resume it.
Game mode updates include a fix to prevent players from unintentionally bringing game-mode specific items like powder kegs into the open world in Outpost Rush. In the Empyrean Forge Expedition, Commander Marius’s magma ball hazard now displays a secondary ring to indicate the area where the impact shockwave will cause minor damage and stagger the player.
Economy, progression, and gear changes involve a fix for an issue causing items in purchased Gear Set Slots to return to player inventories on login. Open world Elite chests in Level 55+ Varangian Points of Interest (POIs) now have a 75% chance to drop a Flame Core, down from 100%, while Regular chests have a 10% chance, down from 20%. Unstable Casts now cost three Flame Cores to craft, down from 10, and players can craft six Unstable Casts daily, up from three.
The Season Pass sees multiple adjustments and additions to its activities and challenges, including changing victory and experience requirements in PvP arenas, crafting changes, and adjustments to required wins and completions in various tasks.
Finally, the update includes several user experience and user interface improvements, such as tooltip and translation updates, and a fix for an issue with Leaderboards. Additionally, a rare issue preventing players from turning off their PvP flag has been fixed, and the amount of echo when an NPC speaks within a small interior space has been reduced.
