The Yokai Watch creature-catching title from 2013 is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, with a range of sales and other celebrations planned. One of the bigger announcements in a company statement seems to point towards another Yokai Watch currently in development, with a public reveal planned for down the line.
The company recently announced it would be celebrating its 10th anniversary, with Level 5 President Akihiro Hino confirming again that the next title is in development. In a tweet on his official account, the head of the studio confirmed the development in Japanese, which translates to “The next work that builds on the flow of Yokai Watch is steadily progressing. The announcement is still a little ahead…”
As part of the celebration for the first decade since the original title was released, players can find all of the titles on Switch for sale, with unique stamps and wallpapers available on the company’s official website. The series still seems to be incredibly popular, with the developer porting multiple games to the Nintendo Switch and developing new titles at the same time.
Players who want to join in on the celebration can do so by visiting the Yokai Watch 10th anniversary website to download the free assets and learn about the sales. With Level 5’s President giving further hope to fans of the series, it’s easy to see how the Yokai Watch series may continue to entertain audiences for the next decade as well.
Players should keep an eye on Level 5’s Twitter account for the official announcement of the next Yokai Watch title.
