Nippon Ichi Software, the popular Japanese developer and publisher, has just hosted a special anniversary livestream celebrating 30 successful years.

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless has been announced today with a new trailer, and scheduled for a Fall 2023 release. This highly anticipated sequel will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Rhapsody Marl Kingdom Chronicles was also revealed, and has been set for a Summer 2023 launch. It’ll be available on PC, the Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. There’s no word on a last-gen console release, which is a shame, since Rhapsody should’ve been comfortable on PS4.

Fans were finally treated to a release window for this one, and although the fast-paced announcement trailer didn’t show nearly enough gameplay, it does introduce all of the characters and mechanics. The trailer sells many of the mechanics as rulebreakers, and they are creative. It’s been a long wait to get more of this story overseas, and that should be enough.

Surprisingly, the separate announcement trailer cuts off a glimpse of PlayStation’s glorious Limited Edition, which is absolutely packed with content. In addition to various obligatory items like an art book and soundtrack, the collector’s box and art display are truly stunning. Fans will even get a Netherworld Warriors tea cup. This announcement was later accompanied by some very extensive gameplay footage, oddly receiving far more attention than the beloved Disgaea series. But it does finally bring Rhapsody II and Rhapsody III to the West, and all of the revealed gameplay looks promising.

Again, you’ll have to refer to the livestream for a look at the PlayStation 5 Limited Edition. The highlight is a cloth poster, which is even more unique than the acrylic displays. Not only does the poster fit the theme of the series, but it’s also a creative collectible that other games could benefit from. You can check out today’s new trailer here:
