No, Roblox Tinder Is Not Real

A joke posting by a Twitter user spread outside of the account and fueled rumors of a possible Roblox Tinder being released.

Roblox has recently added the ability to release 17+ games, which made for fertile ground to start the rumor mill of what might be on the horizon for the platform. While what mostly has been produced so far is a bunch of forgettable games, it also gave fuel to creators on social media to go a little wild with the concept.

One such Twitter user known as Jofu, posted a joke concept of a Roblox avatar appearing in the Roblox app with a Tinder like user interface. It shows the ability to essentially swipe left or right and receive a match with another Roblox user.

While anyone who took more than a brief glance at this account would realize that it was created for jokes, particularly due to the description of the account that reads, “I create ideas for fun. Don’t take what I make seriously.” It appears that the Dexerto Twitter account did not get the message.

A tweet that has since been deleted was posted by the account with, “Roblox rumored to add a Tinder-style dating feature for 18+ users.”

An accompanying article was also published, but the post more clearly clarifies that it was based on concept art made by the aforementioned Twitter user. However, they do list them as “rumors”, when there weren’t any real rumors other than the fake concept artwork.

So, whether you were excited or not, it seems very unlikely that Roblox will be adding a Tinder-like feature anytime soon. While the platform is looking to grow up, this does not appear to be one of the ways it will do so… For now.
